Mission
Creating contagious Christian communities.
Purpose
To be a place where people can enter in to authentic
worship of God and link up in meaningful relationships,
give out in service to others and grow up in
Christian maturity, in order to reach out with
Christ’s love to lost and searching people.
Taking people all the way from being sceptics
to sympathisers, sympathisers to community,
community to evangelists.
Values
Jesus at the centre of everything.
Every member in ministry.
Every member growing.
Community built on sacrificial love.
Love for the lost and searching.
Servant-hearted leadership.

Worship Ministry
Worship is central to our church life at Barley
Hill. Jesus tells us that true worshippers
do
so in spirit and in truth (John 4:23) and this
is a key goal. Worship is much more than singing
songs on a Sunday. Worship is an attitude,
a lifestyle, something that we are 24/7. In
worship
we recognise the 'worth-ship' of God.
Practically, the worship team at Barley Hill
Church is involved in providing the sound and
vision for our Sunday services. Worship team
members sing, play instruments, run the technical
stuff (sound and laptop-driven graphics) and
often a combination of all three.
Pastoral Team*
We are currently developing a team of people
to support the minister and homebase pastors
in the pastoral ministry at Barley Hill Church.
The pastoral care team is available to help
individuals and families in a variety of ways.
You can access the team yourself or on behalf
of someone else.
Prayer Ministry*
At Barley Hill Church we believe in the power
of prayer. The team are available each Sunday
at the end of the service. We provide an opportunity
for people to receive healing prayer and more
of God’s blessings through his Holy Spirit.
Our vision for prayer is for every person at
Barley Hill Church to be able to receive the
healing, freedom power of the Holy Spirit in
our lives. The Apostle Paul tells believers
to “Drink the spirit of God, huge draughts of
him” (Eph. 5:18), and that is our aim through
Prayer Ministry.
*All information will be treated in confidence
Corporate Prayer
At Barley Hill Church, we aim to make prayer
a priority. “ Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God”
(Phil. 4:6). For this reason we hold a meeting
on the fourth Sunday of each month, called ‘Deeper’.
In this time we aim to deepen our relationship
with God through worship, some teaching, and
especially through intercessory prayer. We also
aim to produce a monthly prayer diary and to
encourage more and more people to be part of
a prayer partnership or triplet (two or three
people praying together regularly) and in each
small group to have a prayer champion - someone
who keeps prayer as a focus in the group.
Evangelism Ministry
We believe that one of our primary roles as
a Church is to help people who want to know
more about God, whether they have a little knowledge
or none at all. Our evangelism strategy is based
wholly upon building close relationships between
our members and non-members to support their
exploration of faith. We aim to organise events
suitable for people at all stages of exploration
- social events, opportunities to discuss issues;
and services where people can hear the truth
about Jesus Christ.
Welcome Ministry
As a ministry we are committed to ensuring that
all people, new and current members, feel welcome
and at home at Barley Hill Church. We are always
seeking ways in which we can improve on this
and would welcome any suggestions you may have.
Within this ministry separate teams welcome
people as they arrive at church, serve drinks
to everyone after the service and prepare and
clear away the hall.
